Background & Research Interests
Miranda Medrano is a PhD Candidate at the University of Minnesota. The focus of her thesis research is modelling the spread of African Swine Fever (ASF) in pig farms who raise their pigs outdoors in the Midwest. She has assisted the team with the proactive risk assessment specific to ASF, along with a few other projects. Her advisors are Dr. Marie Culhane and Dr. Cesar Corzo. Her research interests include epidemiological modeling, swine infectious disease, public health, and public policy.
