ERIC LINSKENS
BS, Biology, University of Wisconsin- La Crosse, La Crosse, Wisconsin
Background
Eric graduated with a B.S. in Biology from the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse in 2014 and began working as a Research Professional for the University of Minnesota Secure Food Systems Team in 2015. He has enjoyed working for a team involved in proactive preparedness for animal disease outbreaks.
In the past year, he has been a member of the risk analysis team and, for lead risk analysts Drs. Emily Walz and Jamie Umber, helping to evaluate the risk of live bird movements, specifically broilers and turkeys to market, from uninfected farms during an HPAI outbreak. More recently, Eric has been working closely alongside Dr. Carol Cardona with an outreach program for the Secure Poultry Supply Plan and permitted movement process. This initiative uses a scenario-approach for HPAI outbreak responders to practice outbreak response and implementation of continuity of business plans.
