Background and Research Interests
Sasidhar Malladi is a senior operations research scientist with the University of Minnesota. He has broad research interests in epidemiological modeling, decision sciences and risk analysis. He has contributed to several proactive risk assessments to support highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) outbreak preparedness and business continuity planning in collaboration with USDA APHIS Center for Epidemiology and Animal Health (CEAH). He has developed simulation models of HPAI spread within a poultry flock to inform product movement and testing protocols in the Secure Egg, Secure Broiler and Secure Turkey Supply Plans. He was also involved with epidemiologic analyses during the 2015 HPAI EA/AM H5N2 Outbreak in the US. His current focus is on modeling and quantitative risk analysis to support animal health emergency preparedness as well as business continuity planning.
