The Secure Poultry Supply Plan requires coordinated implementation by both regulatory and private industry partners during a highly pathogenic avian disease outbreak. Poultry producers and processors who implement risk mitigation strategies, state regulatory officials who permit and track movements as well as those who receive products, and the diagnostic laboratories involved with testing requirements all need to understand and have the collective ability to execute their roles in the Secure Poultry Supply Plan during an outbreak. We employ multiple approaches to educate and engage this broad group of stakeholders and outbreak responders regarding the Secure Poultry Supply Plan.
