Background and Research Interests

Dr. Jamie Umber is a public health veterinarian with a focus on zoonotic diseases and public health preparedness. She is certified by the American College of Veterinary Preventative Medicine. Her work is based on interdisciplinary engagement and collaboration addressing issues that impact human, animal, and environmental health. Dr. Umber integrates veterinary subject matter expertise into policy at the local, state, regional, and federal levels using applied epidemiologic studies; public health surveillance and data analysis; and educational and outreach activities
