Background & Research Interests
Amos has previously worked at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), Nairobi, Kenya (2012 - 2015) both as a post-doctoral scientist and scientist and prior to that, he worked as a Ph.D/AIO research assistant at the Central Veterinary Institute part of Wageningen University, The Netherlands (2008 - 2012). He is faculty as a senior mathematics lecturer at Gulu University, Uganda (since 2002). He is currently working as a post-doctoral associate at the University of Minnesota, USA (2016 – to-date). He has research interest and experience in mathematical modelling, ecological modelling, dynamical systems, population dynamics as well as mathematical epidemiology of infectious diseases. He has worked on modelling of spread dynamics and control of infectious diseases such as tuberculosis in humans, Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza, African swine fever and Contagious Bovine Pleuropneumonia among others.
